Melano Bridge Corrosion Control and Protection, Ketapang, Indonesia
OVERVIEW
Melano Bridge Corrosion Control and Protection, Ketapang, Indonesia
Before the bridge structure is exposed to corrosion due to an aggressive environment and is submerged in water, it is necessary to control and protect against corrosion itself on the bridge structure. The Melano Bridge located in Ketapang, West Kalimantan needs to be coated with materials that can increase the strength and protection of its structure so that it is resistant to aggressive environmental corrosion.
CONSTRAINT
MAIN PROBLEM
The control and protection of the Melano Bridge structure against corrosion needs to be improved so that the strength of the structure can last longer.
SOLUTION
OUR SOLUTION
To increase the strength and protection of the existing Melano Bridge structure underwater, it is necessary to install the Tyfo® Fibrwrap® System on the new structure. The Tyfo® Fibrwrap® system consists of high-strength fibers and an epoxy specially designed to prevent corrosion on the surface of the structure.
In addition to the installation of the Tyfo® Fibrwrap® System, it is also necessary to install Tyfo® CP for the maintenance of marine structures, protection of corroded reinforced concrete and steel structures, as well as preventing corrosion of new constructions. The main component of Tyfo® CP System, namely Zinc as the anode pole, can prevent corrosion that will occur in steel structures because of its electrochemical potential and higher consumption rate than steel.
